Dusty, the Gopher Tortoise

Dusty, the Gopher tortoise lives n the uplands area of FLorida. He has dug a long wide burrow where he lives with Inky, the indigo snake as his companion. He smells smoke one day and knows something is wrong. Lightning has struck nearby and the fire is headed his way. Soon animals are running from the fire and many join him in his hole and nearby holes. They are safe in the long burrows. The birds fly away. Soon the fire is out and after the land cools down the animals return to their former homes.
